Champions Sports Bar at Nashville Airport Marriott
I was recently invited to a good friend's birthday party at Champions Sports Bar in the Nashville Airport Marriott Hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere! The hotel and the Sports Bar have undergone beautiful renovations recently and provided the perfect backdrop for the birthday party! The very next week I called back to Champions to find out more about the space because I'm always being asked for recommendations of restaurants with private rooms, space for birthday parties, baby showers, etc. Well, I've added Champions to my list of restaurants with great space for parties and private events and encourage you to consider them as well! I made a 2nd trip to the restaurant to try some of their great menu selections and talk with the Executive Chef, Hanif Mohammed and Director of Operations, Donna Booker.
Donna tells me that Champions Sports Bar has made some changes to the overall concept of the restaurant. They have a more upscale focus now that includes having a 3 meal per day availability in the restaurant and bar. The restaurant is much more modern in appearance and features Nashville themed artwork on the walls, flat screen TVs at many of the booths (WOW!) and gorgeous decor. There's even a 14 Foot Flat screen on one of the main walls that is capable of playing 4 different Channels, games, etc at once! There's a private dining room in the restaurant that seats up to 50 people for more intimate events.
Before the recent renovations, Donna tells me that their Breakfast and lunch crowd was always great, but many people would leave the hotel for dinner to dine at other restaurants. Now, they are packed for dinner each night because of the great new menu offerings and atmosphere the restaurant provides. They have a great Sunday Brunch that is frequented not only by guests of the Marriott hotel, but also by local Nashvillians. Chef Hanif tells me that Saturday has also become a favorite day for local Nashvillians to frequent the Breakfast Buffet because it comes complete with an array of delicious breakfast offerings including smoked salmon, European meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, Breakfast potatoes, sausage etc. A few years ago, Champions won the Nashville Scene's "Best of.." in the category of Best Breakfast Buffet! They offer a lunch buffet Monday - Friday.
Even though Champions is a National Marriott Hotels concept, the Nashville Marriott location has a lot of freedom with the menu including using many local products and sourcing from local farms. They use Benton's bacon, which is local to Tennessee. Their signature burger is made with a bun from local Nashville bakery, Provence. They have several local Nashville beers on tap including Yazoo, Jackelope, Gurst, Blackstone, and since this is Tennessee, there are some local Moonshine varieties available as well!
They have a Happy Hour from 4-6 Monday- Friday and all day on the weekend during Football Season! There are $5 Appetizers, $6 glasses of house wines and $3 drafts and during Happy Hour.
So now that I've given you this overview of how great Champions Sports Bar is inside the Nashville Airport Marriott, take a look below at some of the great menu items they offer!
Gorgeous tables and decor
Here is one of the flat screen TV's I mentioned above! Many of the booths have their own flat screen TV on the wall...how cool!
