Joey's House of Pizza

Joey's House of Pizza : Food Truck Frenzy

A couple of weekends ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a Brand Spankin' New food truck hitting the streets of Nashville - Joey's House of Pizza! If the name is familiar to you Nashvillians, that is because Joey's Restaurant has been in Nashville since 1999 and they have decided to take their authentic New York Style Pizza to the streets of Music City!

I found them on their very 1st day in the new food truck......how cool! I meet Joey and enjoyed talking with him about his Brooklyn, NY roots (I LOOOOOOVE New York City and can talk about it all it day!)

Joey's House of Pizza is a family business. Joey worked in his brother's pizza shop in the Downtown Nashville Arcade for many years before he opened his own restaurant in the Maryland Farms area of Brentwood. A while later he moved his restaurant to the Elm Hill Pike area which is were his brick and mortar restaurant is now. His loyal customers have followed him from location to location and he appreciates the support!

Sicilian Slice of Cheese Pizza - Great crispy crust and tangy tomato sauce make for a great "Pizza By The Slice"! There is just something about a good ole' "Pizza By The Slice" that reminds me of my days living in Philly. To make it truly authentic, it has to be served on a white paper place JUST LIKE this one. Oh the memories........... :-)

Margherita Slice of Cheese Pizza - The fresh basil atop this pizza is Amazing! It really adds an Italian feel to the Pizza. Don't ask me why, but I always eat thick crust Margherita pizza by eating the topping first, then the thick breading and leave the crust behind. At this point, it has become a habit so I don't try to fight it LOL!

Next on my agenda with Joey's House of Pizza is to visit the actual Restaurant on Elm Hill Pike and, of course, I'll bring you a recap of my visit :-)
