Fish Taco Lunch at The Nashville City Club
Chef John Williams recently changed up the menu at the Nashville City Club. He changes it up about 4 times per year. Even though I am really sad that the Grilled Cheese Sandwich bites are no longer on the menu (and trust me...I have expressed my disappointment and have petitioned for them to magically reappear on the menu) I am really happy with some of the new additions. The Fish Tacos would be one of those menu items that I am drooling over....they really are THAT good :-)
Asian Chicken Lettuce Wrap - Butter Lettuce, rice noodles, peanuts, soba noodle salad
This was a pretty tasty appetizer! The chicken is warm but the noodles are cold. The contrasting temperatures caught me off guard initially but, I appreciated it during the next couple of bites.
Crispy Fish Tacos - White Corn Tortilla, chipotle syrup, queso fresco, black bean salsa, cilantro Crema
How fresh is that lime!!
WOW...these are AWESOME! The cilantro Crema is some kind of wonderful! The Crema is so sweet and flavorful that I'm tempted to find other edible items capable of being dipped just to have an excuse to keep eating it!
Tempura Shrimp - Udon Noodles, Asian vegetable stir fry, sesame soy sauce, glazed tempura shrimp. The crispiness of the breading combined with the tenderness of the shrimp itself is a great combo. Top that with the sweet citrus flavor of the glaze along with the presentation and you've got yourself one great entree'!
Pumpkin Bread Pudding - Cranberry Caramel, candied walnuts, Cinnamon Chantilly Cream...AMAZING!
These dried cranberries look so pretty atop the bread pudding and taste even better :-)
I loooooove bread pudding but, I was kind of hesitant to try this "Pumpkin" version of the classic dessert because I was not sure how the flavors would combine. I'm glad I was feeling adventurous this day because it was fabulous! I love the combination of sweet flavor with the smooth, creamy texture...Yum!
